How do I know if someone in my household qualifies?

Participating in any one of many government assistance programs will qualify you for the Free tablet and internet service. Go to our Apply page to see the list of programs and check off all those that apply. If you’re not sure, call and one of our representatives can help figure out if you qualify. You may need to show a card, letter, or official document as proof that you participate in one of these programs when you apply for the Free Internet Benefit. Here’s the full list of qualifying programs:

  1. Received a Federal Pell Grant during the current award year.
  2. Participates in one of these assistance programs:
    • SNAP
    • Medicaid
    • Federal Public Housing Assistance
    • Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
    • WIC
    • Veterans Pension or Survivor Benefits

Can anyone in my household qualify?

Any member of your household can make your household eligible. For example, if your child or dependent participates in the Free and Reduced-Price School Lunch Program, your household qualifies for the Free Internet Benefit.

If I have low income, but I’m not in a government program, can I still qualify?

Yes. A household is eligible for the Affordable Connectivity Program if the household income is at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines. We may ask for documentation to verify your income.

Am I eligible if I already receive Lifeline benefits?

Lifeline is a program to help make communications services more affordable for low-income consumers. If you currently receive Lifeline benefits through Medicaid, you automatically qualify for the Emergency Broadband Benefit (this is the 4G tablet with free internet service) and you can receive both benefits at the same time. You can apply your Free Internet Benefit and your Lifeline benefit to the same or separate services.

Can we get more than one tablet?

The Affordable Connectivity Program is limited to one monthly service discount and one device discount per household.
